Final Year Project

The final year projects will either be research-oriented or focus on development work. They may range in variety from development projects on hardware and software, computer modelling and simulation, to those of a more theoretical research nature. The essential factor is that these projects must contain elements such as innovation, novelty, critical analysis or research and not just to repeat what others have done.

Through the final year projects, students will learn the methods to plan and manage a research project and the approaches to apply engineering knowledge to practical problems. These projects also aim to train the students to be creative and critical in their solution of practical problems.

The emphasis of the final year projects will be the application of engineering principles in hardware and/or software system development. Such projects will further enhance the students' knowledge to good engineering practices, including the need to formulate and satisfy specifications to meet market and other needs and in the effective use of engineering materials and components relevant to their current technical work.
