2003 2002
  • BTech programme website wins ONZCDA Merit Award in June 2002.
  • BTech programme switches to payment by module to facilitate self-paced learning from July 2002.
  • Application for BTech Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering totally on-line from July 2002.
  • BTech (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering) Programme receives accreditation to MEng level by Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) United Kingdom in Dec 2002.
  • BTech Programme wins 1st prize for outstanding suggestion participation in VOICE (University Staff Suggestion Scheme).

2001

2000

  • Final year projects managed entirely over the internet since January 2000.
  • BTech Electronics Engineering programme gains full accreditation from Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) United Kingdom in May 2000.
  • Application forms for BTech Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering programme available on-line in July 2000.
  • BTech programme wins 2nd prize for outstanding participation in VOICE (University Staff Suggestion Scheme).
  • In the Professional Engineers (Approved Qualifications) Notification 2000, all four B.Tech. courses in Chemical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, are listed in Part 1 of the Schedule entitling the holders to be registered under Section 15(1)(b) of the Professional Engineers Act as professional engineers.

1999

  • BTech Office moved to new premises at EA-07-32 in March 1999.
  • Forms available on the internet in April 1999.
  • First intake of BTech Chemical Engineering students in July 1999.
  • Registration of modules via the Internet introduced for the BTech Programme in July 1999.
  • Convocation of first cohort of BTech Electronics Engineering students in September 1999.

  • Staff and student suggestion/feedback goes on-line in September 1999.
  • Selection of final year projects goes on-line in October 1999.  

1998

  • BTech bulletin available on the internet in June 1998.
  • BTech Electronics Engineering programme gains provisional accreditation from Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) United Kingdom in September 1998.

1997

  • First issue of BTech Bulletin in July 1997.
  • Non-examinable enrichment modules were introduced in July 1997.
  • BTech Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programme gains provisional accreditation from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) United Kingdom in August 1997.

1996

  • First intake of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering students in January 1996.
  • BTech Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Programme gains full accreditation from Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES) in December 1996.

1995

  • BTech Electronics Engineering Programme gains full accreditation from Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES) in March 1995.
  • First intake of Electronics Engineering students in July 1995.
